I am an administrator and help commissionable employees with questions or issues. I use Xactly Incent to troubleshoot issues and for management reporting. Xactly Incent addresses the problem of managing multiple compensation plans that have very complicated calculations that would be challenging with other financial tools.

  • I am a little confused by the employee setup and why there is a person and a position record and how they work together. Seems like it could be simpler, maybe just one screen to set up a new employee.
  • I would like to have somebody to speak with when submitting support tickets. Some questions are quite complicated and would benefit from discussions, rather than trying to communicate an issue via email.
Xactly Incent is well suited for communicating commission information to the field. I love that they can just log on and see all the data they need to verify the commissions they receive. I also like the option to post messages and announcements within the application.

Xactly Incent is used to manage commissions for the sales organization worldwide. As of January 2024, we have approximately 600 users distributed among seven commission plans: account executive, VP/RVP, presales, industry practices, solutions, sales admin, and channels.

  • Automation: It would be great to have a tool that allows us to create a sequence of steps with some parameters that could be run automatically and sequentially. For example, with one click get credit, commission, and bonus result files downloaded in a CSV format.

Xactly has the abiltiy to process mass amounts of data in an incredibly fast amount of time. No knowledge of programming is needed and it is fairly easy to use once you understand the mechanics of it. Our Customer Success Manager, is extremely helpful and is of great support any time we need help with tickets, general questions, or best practices. Even when she doesn't know the answer she is very quick to find an answer or recommend a solution.

Xactly Incent works well when comp plans are static and not changing frequently (less than annually). It is a great Enterprise solution that allows API connections to many different sources. When partnered with CEA, the accounting counterpoint, it can greatly bridge gaps between adminstration and accounting.

We have integrated Xactly with Salesforce to calculate our earned commissions for our Sales, SDRs, and Account Manager teams. Previously, all calculations were managed in spreadsheets, and we now use Xactly to calculate commissions on a monthly and quarterly basis. Our Sales leaders also use the Xactly forecasting tool.

While Xactly is good at calculation and process flow, the trouble we run into is system maintenance and plan reconfiguration, as well as reporting. That being said, as we have updated plans over the years, we have streamlined some of those factors to simplify the process as a whole with the intention of continuing to streamline all plan aspects going forward.

Xactly Incent was rolled out to support an outside sales force to provide more visibility into commissions down to the product and order level.
  • The visibility it has given our Reps has been outstanding and the ability to drill down into specific orders/products has been a welcome new addition.
  • The Xactly Incent Acct Mgmt team has been very responsive as well as an advocate for us when we had issues arise.
  • Implementation was not as smooth as it could of been in my experience.
  • Support is somewhat lacking in my opinion (we are currently on basic support).
Xactly Incent is well suited for a salesforce with a wide arrange of products and users. Could be a challenge for an organization that has a complex compensation structure.

As a member of the Sales Compensation team I use Xactly Incent on a daily basis and it has done wonders for our team in terms of convenience and company reporting. We are a team of 5 and pay over 200 sales reps monthly on many different types of plans so having a system that can handle the bulk of the calculations makes it so we can use our time so much more efficiently.

Bi-Monthly processing of advisor commissions. Xactly allows us to process cash collected by advisors into the system to generate commission calculations by team and any splits. We utilize Xactly Analytics for reporting that is used by other departments to ensure accuracy of payroll processing.

We use Xactly Incent to calculate and pay out commissions to our sales employees on a monthly basis. We also use Xactly Incent to supply data into CEA which our accounting team uses to manage commission expenses. We supply sales employees with access to the platform so they can view their incentive statements and see their commission details. We also utilize analytics to build reports that our team can use to validate outstanding commission amounts per employee. Xactly Incent allows us to reduce the amount of time that it would previously take to calculate commissions manually. We still perform manual verifications to ensure all calculations are correct, but we are working towards moving away from those files.

Xactly Incent is ideal for commission plans where management receives a separate rate for their individual sales and team sales, or makes no individual sales at all. The plan setup becomes complex and cumbersome when you have management that needs to have individual sales and team sales included in calculating their commission rate. Xactly Incent is not ideal if you handle commission plan documentation outside of Incent as there is not an easy way to upload those into the system. Year over year changes can be cumbersome with having to create a new calendar year, recreate process groups, and upload quotas for the new year. Outside of those constraints that cause the most headache for our team, I would highly recommend the software. Provided you have setup the rules and plans correctly, the calculation process is quicky and the reports (released, held, and credits) allow for easy troubleshooting when a plan isn't generating any results. Our end users like the functionality of the incentive statement, which makes it easy for them to see what their earned and paid commissions are for the month, quarter, and year. The system integrates well with our CRM and ERP (Salesforce and Netsuite).

When we onboarded our system, we were manually calculating commissions for our direct inside sales team. Xactly Incent was our solution to begin automating the calculations to provide more real time results for commission accruals and management for both our commission earning associates and their managers. This has significantly helped to reduce the amount monthly work for the team that was manually calculating these commissions and it has also provided more direct visibility into the sales credited to each of our inside sales rep teams so that any upstream data issues with the allocation of sales can be corrected before the end of the commission cycle leading to more accurate commission payments with less need for post period corrections. This of course had not fully eliminated the need for manual intervention as there as some payment methodologies and multiple sales splitting agreements that have proven to be a bit too complex for the Xactly Incent system in my opinion. For instance, splitting sales across teams that are cross hierarchy can cause issues for rolling that same percent of sales credit to the indirectly credited associate's manager and by extension their manager I've found.
  • Providing daily commission accrual feedback to payees
  • Providing opportunities for bulk data uploads rather than requiring associate data to be entered one by one.
  • Plan assignment flexibility. Plans can be assigned in multiple ways eliminating the need of an individualized plan for each associate, but the system still has the option to assign in that manner if needed.
  • The ability to bulk download the system plans and their components as well as download a full list of all formulas, credit and commission rules and their logic. Would make configurations and major data changes easier to service within the system as finding data point components in the system are difficult if you have a very large number of rules and formulas.
  • Ability to roll on reporting indirect relationship credits. Sometimes I need to roll credits and split them between two equal associates and then I need that credit to roll up to their managers. Right now, indirect named credits are not rollable on reporting I've found.
  • The ability to mass copy over quotas and configured external processes from one year to the next. This inability to do that makes new year configuration cumbersome and time consuming as each process needs to be copied individually and if you have a good number of them, it can take time in my opinion. Additionally, you can bulk upload quota assignments, but cannot mass create/copy the initial quotas from year to the next in my experience. Those have to be created one by one currently I've found.
I believe if you have hard and fast sales territory boundaries for your payees and sell a physical product or good, the system can handle this flawlessly and has a lot of added functionality. The financial and insurance industry has a lot of complexities as most of the products being sold are quite literally money and if there is any asset-based component to the calculation and not just straight sales based, it can be quite difficult to make work in the system in my opinion. Additionally, if there is a lot of sales territory overlap between payees, that level of complexity can be hard to overcome in Xactly Incent in my opinion, especially if sales are going to be split and not just shared giving full credit to both agents.

We use Xactly Incent to pay our sales reps commissions monthly based on the given plan year's sales incentive program. We have over 300+ sales reps, so we needed a systematic method to handle the commission calcs, track performance, and manage plan document reviews/acceptances.
  • Incentive calcs - easily determine commission payouts for each rep once properly set up.
  • Ease of tracking and managing our Sales Incentive plans documents distribution, review, and approvals.
  • Ability for sales leaders to view/manage their direct reports comp plans.
  • Lack of customization of the Incentive Statement based on our plan requirements making it difficult/confusing for our sales reps.
  • The UI is not very intuitive to our sales reps. Requires quite a bit of hand-holding/ training.
  • Configuration is complicated - especially when our plans require customized incentives.
Xactly Incent is definitely worth the investment if you have over 25+ reps and/or you have a complex sales incentive plan. You don't want to do commission calcs in Excel if you can help it. But with a more complex sales incentive plan, you will introduce much more complex commission calcs as well as more challenges on reporting with Analytics.

We use Xactly Incent to calculate global commissions on a monthly basis. We have it fully integrated with Salesforce to capture data directly from or CRM as well as an API link to PowerBI that allows us to do all of our reporting. Using Xactly shortened the calculation cycle from weeks to just days while also increasing accuracy.

  • CRM integration was easy and eliminates the need for a manual process.
  • Calculating commissions are now uniform and consistent across all plans and there is no longer a need for excel.
  • The end user dashboards take some time to understand for sales employees that only log into the tool once and awhile.
  • Setting up an individual position and title for each employee takes some time to get used to in our application. We have individual people set up as custom unique positions essentially duplicating the records.
Xactly is well suited to streamline commission calculations and plan administration. We have tried to use to it provide a monthly accrual and forecast but version control is challenging.

We use Xactly Incent as a tool for calculating and displaying commission to our sales org. We utilize Xactly Incent to integrate with our Salesforce data.
  • The new (ish) Incent UI is a great update.
  • The ability to switch between orgs (Production/Sandbox) is super slick.
  • Xactly Incent allows us to get out of spreadsheets and manual compensation calculation.
  • I hate not being able to login to the Xactly Incent from the Sandbox org. Could be a problem specific to our org/auth configuration. Makes checking documentation or cases a clunky experience.
  • I wish the Edit Roles UI was more user friendly. A side panel and having to scroll through a bunch of booleans isn't my favorite experience.
  • I'd like to see preferences categorized somehow. A long list of random preferences can be cumbersome if the search doesn't return what I'm looking for.
Xactly Incent is great at integrating with our Salesforce data. The data retrieval is reliable and low maintenance once configured appropriately. The UI is modern an easy to navigate.

Xactly Incent allows us to calculate commissions in a timely and accurate fashion. The question that comes my way are all related to when commission payments will be "released" for payment, not whether there is an error in the calculations. Great product.

There are issues with the historical payouts. I have noticed that is a Sales Rep changed positions in Mid year (from SalesA to SalesB), the payment information follows the current position (SalesB). SalesA data is loss unless, you add SalesA to hierarchy.

Xactly Incent was implemented this year to manage the company's incentive compensation. We were previously managing all incentive compensation via Excel and SQL, which we knew was not scalable as the company grew. The main reason we implemented Xactly Incent was for real-time visibility into incentive compensation calculations and performance reporting.

Our company uses Incent across two departments - Commissions and Sales. Commissions uses Incent as a tool to help make complicated commission rules and processes more automated. The sales department uses Incent as their main hub for all things commission and quota attainment related. We also use Incent's messaging feature [to] send out important documents like comp plans and terms and conditions for approvals.

For companies with a simple business model and straightforward sales org, it is a very useful tool. If your sales org has multiple divisions, teams, plan types, etc. it’s hard to keep things standardized across all divisions, especially when there is lateral movement of reps amongst and between different teams.

Currently there are no features that foster user collaboration and community engagement. It's a one-person type of thing which can cause lots of roadblocks.
Auditing the tool is almost impossible. You need to build a manual auditing model offline.

I use Xactly to upload transactions, revenue, and compensation data to check against my calculations by hand. We also use it so that the salespeople can view their performance metrics and see areas where they can improve or how much they are owed month to month. There are many more tools to use, and we are in the process of learning how to use more.

Xactly is perfected and suited for uploading large amounts of transaction data, revenue, and incentive data. It's great at accepting large reports regarding personal and plans. It's really easy to write and distribute plans in Xactly. The place where it needs work is some of the UI is not very user friendly and some of the functions regarding hierarchy and named relationships could be easier to understand.

Xactly Incent is currently being used for the compensation management of all sales colleagues that are part of the incentive plan. We use Xactly Incent for assigning KPI's and targets to employees, sending out target letters, monitoring performance during the incentive period and calculating final commissions. Xactly Incent automates lots of manual work for sales colleagues, sales operations and human resources and also gives better insights in day to day performance.

We use Xactly Incent as the center point for anything Sales Commissions Related.
We also use 2 other separate instances for the Finance (CEA) & Channels teams.
Both of which are directly tied to our Incent Data.

All of our financials, budgets & accruals are tied to Incent through CEA. This feature totally simplifies the task of having to provide Finance with our monthly results to tie out payments and forecast accruals. I believe it is all done directly through their instance of Xactly, CEA.

Likewise, the same applies for the Channels teams, with their instance of Xactly.
  • Provides the Sales Team with access to view their commissions and the details behind those numbers.
  • Provides the Management and Leadership team access to view their own results as well as all the details of their team members.
  • Concise and precise calculations that are built into rules which provide more consistent and accurate results as opposed to spreadsheets which have much higher risk of manipulation and error.
  • The ability to pull reports on almost anything you have in Incent.
  • It doesn't provide real-time results after updates are made that require recalculation. You have to wait for a refresh time to pass.
  • The ability to edit the Draw section, so that you can identify and/or distinguish the difference between Recoverable and Non-Recoverable Draws.
  • Customizing the rare and out of the ordinary situations. It can be done, but typically requires the aid of Support.
I still haven't seen or used a tool that compares to the user experience that Xactly Incent provides to the Sales Force.

I'm using Xactly Incent to calculate the credits and commissions for the sales reps+the bonuses. Also for calculation of the orders purchased based on different scenarios when it is required by the sales reps. We are using the tool also for reporting purposes when we want to see some sales trends.
  • Calculating the commissions

  • The data reprocessing is taking very long
It is very easy to match the payments done quarterly with the remaining balance and sales reps are understanding very easily what is their due commission needs to be paid. The hardest part is when we're reprocessing all Year to Date data, it takes a very long time and during that time we are not using the tool nor the sales reps.

We use xactly to administer the bonuses and commissions for the sales organization within our company.
The business problem I find the most annoying is the fact that we have to manually refresh the data and recalculate.
The refresh cannot be performed at any time because we might affect another team that uses the tool in parallel.
